I wasn't allowed to post to that thread since its older than 60 days, but I suppose it would be valuable to some to know of a possible solution, as the case wasn't solved. I found that after instaling SP2, the outdated DLA version did not work well with nero 6. after updating the DLA, the installer alerts that there is an incompatability issue with nero 6, and it needs to be uninstaled. after doing so, and reinstalling, the problem with burning in nero has been fixed. hope this helps someone.

PS: this fixes it even if the writer is not HP.
