If i have an original cd and back it up via create an .iso using CloneCD then burn it to a blank cd, is there a quality loss in form the original cd to backup cd?

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
