I can't seem to be able to get my Pioneer DVD drive to rip cd tracks using EAC in DMA mode.

I'm using Windows XP Pro and can only seem to get the drive to rip in PIO mode by changing the settings of the IDE channel.

However this is terribly slow and rips at less that 2X. When I change back to DMA mode WinXP automatically puts the transfer mode into Ultra DMA mode 4 which the drive should be capable of:

But in EAC when i rip a track in DMA mode the error correction starts lighting up and track won't rip.

At first i thought it was my CD burner which is on the same IDE channel, and is only a UDMA33 drive, but after i disconnected it I still had the same problem.

Any ideas? Anything at all would be greatly appreciated.
