Ive tried many programs but i cant seem to find one that would let me backup a dvd with working menus. Shrink and Recode just turn them into video clips and i cant afford remake. Does anyone out there have any suggestions.

Intervideo's DVD Copy 3 is really easy to use and will maintain it all. on sale right now for $55.95.....

DVD Rebuilder and CCE Basic is the absolute best. its easy to do - check out the guide here on AfterDawn. CCE Basic is $58, but very worth it.

what are you talking about? I use Recode and Shrink and I can make a full dvd backup and a working menu ... with or without extras.

WTF are you talking about? If you do your backups using Shrink in full-disk mode, you'll have your menus.

If you're just interested in the movie and splitting it onto 2 disks, read that guide made by bbmayo using my method. It's free and it's NOT complicated. It may sound like it at first, but if you have an inkling of common sense, you shouldn't have a problem.

If you only want the movie on one disk without all the extras, what's the purpose of having a menu? Just to waste space and sacrifice compression?

This makes no sense to me!

When using Shrink you can insert a still image for everything except main movie and menus. this will give you just the movie and a working menu.
