Sony DVD Burner -- Problems

Has anyone had or heard about difficulties with the Sony RDR GX7 DVD Recorder? The unit has failed on me twice. I am getting a C1300 "Disk Dirty" error about 1hr 20 min into recording on a clean, new , out-of-the-box DVD-R.

Any ideas or advice is appreciated!

Could be a bad pressing on a batch of original discs. They do make mistakes. If possible, you may have to try a differnt disc.
