Can anyone out there help me??

I left my computer on the other day while I went out for a while, when i came back the computer was off and would not turn back on, so after opening the computer up and testing the power unit (which was dud) i bought a new one and hey presto - working again, HOWEVER now I have another problem.

Neither my CDRW nor DVDRW will work, neither drive will eject and the light stays on the DVDRW constantly.

Both drives are showing as working properly in device manager and I have checked my BIOS which shows both drives.

Have both drives been fried or is this a software problem??
