Is it possible to split and splice VOB files?

Is is possible to split a vob and splice vob's together? If so, what tools are used?

I have the first 2 seasons of MASH on DVD and would like to create individual episode dvd's. The way the dvd's are created is that the first episode is on VTS_01_1.VOB as well as the beginning of the second episode. The second episode is continued on VTS_01_2.VOB and the beginning of the third is included as well, etc, How can I split the episodes indivitually?

Ok this is what you do use TMPEGENC ( get it for free at tmpegenc.com) at the beggining the wizard will start click on what kind of dvd you want to use ( NTSC, pAL ect) after that choose the first file then tweak what ever you want and then it will turn it into MPEG 2 ( if you chose DVD if you chose VCD it will convert to MPEG 1) after that is done converting go to file mpeg tools and go to the merge and cut tab and then click on the ADD button that file that you just did ( mpeg 2 file or mpeg 1) and double click on the file after it is imported and use that slider bar on the bottom to the ending of the first epsiode and click on the
")" button then click OK then RUN it will cut the first epsidide into one file then when it is done cutting go back to the place where the slider bar was on the bottom of the screen find where the second epsidode begun and click on "(" button this will make another file with that begging of the second epsidode do this for all the other VOB files then sitch the epsidoes together excpet the first one cuz that whole

if you dont want to stitch and are making a VCD i recomeend " B's recorder gold it lets you put in more than one file when burning a VCD i have no recommendations for DVDs sorry
