hi i want to backup some of my scratched dvd data software discs and etc.but i do not want to burn them to a dvd but want to burn them to a cd. is this possible and if so what do i need to do and what program do i need. because i could not find out anything of the internet.

Not sure why you'd want to burn to cd but you can use Super DVD Copy or DVD to VCD Ripper. There are lots of other programs out there too.

It may be possible by using HJSplit to split the software into into several CD-size chunks then burn them to separate CDs. You won't be able to install from the CDs though - you'd have to transfer the chunks to your hard drive and reassemble them. Once reassembled you could either mount the image in a virtual drive or burn it back to a DVD. Here's a link to HJSplit:

i found a program called magic iso.you just create a image of the cd or dvd disc, then using magic iso just slect the burn image to disc and insert iver a cd or dvd and it will start burning.excellent program.

dvd to cd is not a good idea
the quality is sometimes worse than a vhs tape and it takes ages to convert it to VCD.
