authoring dvd when used rempeg (totally pissed off!)

Totally baffled
I have successfully used rempeg to cut down the size of m2v file, now when i go to author the dvd in ifoedit, choosing the mv2 file and the ac3 soundfile, half wya through it ifoedit brings up an error message "Too many frames", im so frustrated after waiting about 5 hours to resize my mv2 file

any suggestion
