Netgear Router...Pissing me off!

I have a Netgear Router (MA814) that intermittently cuts out when downloading anything. I am not even using it wireless, have it hard wired to the ports. I have been living with this for 6 months, sometimes I can DL a bunch of stuff and it works fine, sometimes it will cut out when downloading one thing (very annoying coming home to see dl's have been idle for hours). Cycle the power to the router only (not even the cable modem) and the connection starts right back up (why I am sure it is not an ISP issue). I have found others online with the same problem with Netgear but seems liek no one has a solution. Tried firmware update and that does nothing. Short of buying a new router, anybody found a solution?

I can only suggest that your router is still in waranty and should be returned.
