Hello I got my PS2 modded a couple days ago I have chipmod and my version is 7 for my PS2 thats what the guy said now I've tried burning Tekken Tag Tournament (game I own) so that I know how to burn other games. Here are the steps that I do to burn them:
Extracting with Nero Burning ROM. (*.NRG)
1. Insert original game. Open Nero Burning ROM.
2. Click on ?Recorder? > Select ?Choose Recorder...? (or Ctrl+R)
3. Choose Recorder dialog appears > Select the 'Image Recorder' > OK.
4. Click on 'Recorder' > Select 'Copy Disk...' (or icon 'Creates a copy of a disk').
5. New Compilation dialog appears.
6. Copy Options > Uncheck 'On the fly' > Select your source drive > Select lowest
speed available.
7. Image > Click 'Browse' to save your image on the HD > Uncheck 'Delete image file
after disk copy'.
8. Burn > 'Write' checked > Click 'Copy', and it starts to burn your game on your HD.
Burning with Nero Burning ROM.
1. Insert blank media. Open Nero Burning ROM.
2. Click on ?Recorder? > Select ?Burn Image?.
3. 'File open' dialog appears > Select the *.NRG file you created > Click ?Open?.
4. Nero's 'Burn DVD' dialog appears. Write 'checked' > Select lowest speed available.
5. Click ?Burn?, to create the picture DVD.
Now after burning when I go to my PS2 and put the game in it says "Disc Read Error" now did I do something wrong or is it the discs that I'm using that aren't good? the discs that I've tried are FUJIFILM CD-R and MEMOREX CD-R. SO are there any types of brands of cd's that generally always work? I bought the memorex ones and are pretty pissed that they don't work b/c it's just more money I've dished out, can't even get my modded PS2 to play burned games :(

Your cd-r media should be just fine. You are burning at the lowest speed possible correct? I always burn my cd based ps2 games with clone cd at 1x. Here is a tutorial page for that burning program and many others, http://www.geocities.com/modchipzone/burningps2games.htm
Have you backed up any dvd based ps2 games onto a dvd disc yet to see if that worked? Because your laser may just have a problem reading cd based games, but the v7 ps2 is usually pretty good with reading most types of media.

Unfortunately the lowest speed possible for Nero Burning Rom is 4X. Also I won't try any DVD-R cd's unless i know they're going to work, I shouldn't have got my PS2 modded all it needed was to be cleaned of course I had to jump right in and ask the guys to mod it for me. $200 down the drain.

Alright I tried DVD Decrypter through that guide but I can't find my iso. Also when it says source at the top it says "No readers detected!" I clicked on destination and where I wanted to put it in like what folder and such but ya the source at the top says no readers detected.

damn that sucks! Well, if you have a DVD burner, on the actual drive it should say r/rw or something like that to let you know it is a dvd burner. If you can't see anything on the drive, go into your device manager on your computer and check and see what the drive is.

It looks sorta like this if everything lines up:
16x 10x 40x
*Compact Disc Symbol*
Rewritable
The compact disc symbol is the one on everything like the Compact then Disc under it in clear bubble letters. It says High Speed on the side. I don't really know if it's DVD all I know is when the guy installed it he gave us a program called Easy CD Creator 5 or somethinfg like that which in all the program only lets u make audio cd's and data ones. I don't think it's a dvd burner since the program he gave us probable would have allowed dvd burning etc. is there any other way I can do it? I'll try to find if any of my friends have a dvd burner in the mean time but if u know another solution PLEASE tell me but thanks for all the help u've given me so far.

Sorry, you just have a cd burner :-( But that is alright, seeing that you can buy a DVD burner for under a $100 now days! I would say if you want to start backing up ps2 games, then buy a dvd burner, because you will need one.
In the mean time, you will be able to burn game discs that have the purple bottom on them, seeing that they are cd-r.
Try using Clone CD to backup your cd based games. Burn at the lowest speed possible, 1x. My website has changed now so you will need to go here to find the Clone CD tutorial, http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/burningps2games.htm

first of all you can run a Nero info tool scan)found in toolkit)
this will tell you what the burner can do.
also make sure you have aspi layers installed,Nero will tell you this(also in Nero info tool),
if you havent, click on this link, and install them
http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/aspisetup.cfm
if you are using DVD Decrypter, you must put it read mode first,
then to burn onto a cd,you must make sure the settings in DVD Decrypter are correct for burning cd's,
check tools/settings/iso write mode/you should see a tab "options" (open it)should say=auto/dvd/cd
also what chip is it?
certain mods require special procedures to boot games
Quote: when the guy installed it he gave us a program called Easy CD Creator 5
is this roxio??
if it is,get rid of it,and search for roxio zapper to remove it completly .....it conflicts with nero

ALright:
1. I tried burning Tekken Tag Tournament it has a purple bottom to it because it came out when the PS2 did and it doesn't work if thats what u ment Pimp Dawg.
2. Yes Easy CD Creator 5 is associated with Roxio
3. The chip is called chip mod here's a site that gives info on it;
http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16177&cat=268&page=1 I know that was probably against the rules I'm sorry.

Hi there! Sorry for my English, I´m from Czech Rep. ->I have an AMD AthlonXP 2600+@2130MHz, 896MB RAM,MSI K6,40 GB Seagate/7200rpm/2MB Cache,Ge-Force 5700, And my LG 4163B write my DVDs so slowly! In the Nero Burning Rom v. 6.3.1.6 it shows Write speed 8X sometimes even 12X(using Verbatims) and the burning process take about 25-28 minutes(full DVD 4,5GB)!!! Alcohol 120 is doing the same! You can burn from HDD or make a copy of existing disc its always the same!:-( But 1-2 months ago it takes less than 15 minutes in both programs. I have already claimed 2 of my previous LG´s (4120B and before it one older) They stopped writing/readind anything! CD/DVD!
