I find myself stripping audio tracks (6 ch, 2 ch, 1 ch) and subtitles with IFOedit trying to make DVD-9s to fitunder 4.37 GB, only to find that either its not possible or that with the combination of tracks to keep that I picked the film is still too big.

My question is this: Is there anyway to reliably estimate how much space (percent-wise) will be saved by stripping an audio track (including the different channels) and/or subtitle tracks. (eg. a calculator program or something besides just guessing).

I'm running at PII 350 so each strip takes an hour. If I'm going to have to split the DVD9 in half I'd like to know before I spend 2 hours trying to make it fit on one.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm with you on that one, man. I've been rotting my brain trying to figure out what is the "breaking point" number. I'll look and try to post more as i try things out.
peace
