IMHO plextor drives are the best you can get. Enjoy!

The firmware version is now up to Version 1.06
and amen to what the others have said. I have two PX-716SA's and love them both.

You can use the likes of Nero infotool which will tell you what firmware your drive has.
You can also check it if you go into the control panel on your computer then system and device manager. Double click on the dvd drive you have then click on details. The firmware version will be shown there.
The latest firmware driver for your drive can be found here..
