Hi there! Sorry for my English, I´m from Czech Rep. ->I have an AMD AthlonXP 2600+@2130MHz, 896MB RAM,MSI K6,40 GB Seagate/7200rpm/2MB Cache,Ge-Force 5700, And my LG 4163B write my DVDs so slowly! In the Nero Burning Rom v. 6.3.1.6 it shows Write speed 8X sometimes even 12X(using Verbatims) and the burning process take about 25-28 minutes(full DVD 4,5GB)!!! Alcohol 120 is doing the same! You can burn from HDD or make a copy of existing disc its always the same!:-( But 1-2 months ago it takes less than 15 minutes in both programs. I have already claimed 2 of my previous LG´s (4120B and before it one older) They stopped writing/readind anything! CD/DVD! Can You help me PLEASE!?

First of All,If I was you I'd stick to 8x to avoid errors. Secondly, you have a DVD burner, you should just be happy for that. LOL

But you gotta consider the fact that DVD can be up to 4.36 gigabyte. There not cd's anymore.

Imagine burning a 700 MB CD-R at 12X. Then Imagine how long it will take to burn about 6.1 of em. (Equvalent to 1 DVD) 20 to 30 minutes seems about right.

Were did you find 12x DVRs anyway?

I have the same burner, just burn you games at 2X or 2.4X I have had no errors in my PS2 reading at those speeds.

I´m from Czech Republic, I´m burning DATA discs (my photos/videos from my Digital Camera) not PS2 Games. I´ve bought Verbatim DVD-R 8x CERTIFIED at my favuorite store see http://www.rentcomp.cz/ !and Nero recognize them (only a few of them about 3 of 10 pieces) as a 12X speed! and thas it! And at the Nero burning rom i have just selected Burn at Max speed and then click BURN button. Nero said bla bla bla .... Start burning process at 12X Speed (16620 kB/s) and started writing process! And the full DVD it means above 4 GIGABYTES was succesfully finished after 12 - 15 minutes! SERIOUSLY! I´m NOT JOKING! Thats what I´m now so sad about writing one DVD about a half hour!
