CD games are driving me mad!!!

Ive been trying to burn a few different cd based ps2 games like batman and crash nitro kart but im havibng problems i burnt cnk with alcohol onto a datawrite 9o min cdr and after the sm3.3 screen it looked like it was loading them the playstationn drive went crazy fast and didnt stop till reset. Burnt the same gamme onto a verbatim datalife 700mb with clone cd and i get a invalid ps2 disk messege. andone tried the same disks/had same probs???
