Hi,

I have recently installed the latest Tyan Trinity KT-A (S2390B) BIOS for my PC to allow me to install a 250GB hard drive. This is version V 1.13. Shortly, after this time when I went to burn a copy of a DVD I got the Blue Screen of Death. Before this my DVD burner worked perfectly fine.

I thought the problem was a conflict of drivers from the Digital Studio 8 that I had also just recently installed so I decided to started over from scratch.

I copied my data file over from my primary hard drive (40GB) to my 250GB secondary drive. I then reformatted the 40GB hard drive and reinstalled WindowsXP. I got the "Blue Screen" when I tried to install the Roxio software that came with the Plextor 708A DVD burner so I purchased the Roxio Easy DVD Copy program. When I tried to install this through the Plextor drive, I got an error, but no "Blue Screen". So I tried to install the software through my CD-ROM drive and it installed successfully.

Apparently the problem is only with the DVD burner. I can view DVDs for a while, but if I am pausing and rewinding after a little while I get the "Blue Screen". And when I burn a copy of a DVD, I get the "Blue Screen". I even installed all the firmware updates for the DVD burner, and still get the same results.

I ran the selftest on the Plextor drive and it showed that the hardware is okay.

The only thing I can think is different is the BIOS. Everything was
working before I updated it and installed the 250GB hard drive.
Everything beside my Plextor related activites work fine. Do you have
any suggestions?

Thank you,
Stu
