Action replay and magic switch will it work? help please!!

I was wondering if its possible to use the magic switch for the slim ps2 and action replay max instead of Swap magic? if so can anyone explian how to use action replay max to play back up disks and will it play DVD-R backups?

if you have the magic switch get swap magic disks,
and save yourself the trouble.

AR will NOT Boot backups.
