Hi there,
I have an DVD (Video disc). It playes fine on DVD players(I mean not the softwares). I am using Windows XP SP-2, Clone CD 5.1.0.0, AnyDVD 4.6.3.1, Isobuster 1.7 . Sony CD-RW CRX320E NYK5.

The problem with the disc is that the windows does not recognizes the disc and shows the error. I even tried to play the disc with Power DVD, nero showtime, Blaze DVD & clone DVD but all says no disc inserted.

The media info that AnyDVD gives is Booktype: dvd-r (version 5), Layers: 1.

It is not possible to clone the cd with Clone cd. clone cd gives the error "selection should be between 1-2147......(i don't remeber the figure)

I even tried to extract the data using Isobuster. When the isobuster opens it shows the error The Primary Volume Descriptor is unreadable and shows the size of the disc as 31GB. If i try to extract data/image it shows error as unreadable sector..& the option window for all the sectors.

I just want to play that disc on my system..

Any help..Thanks
Rahul.

That's where I read that this problem is a result of a bad image file. Try to rip/download again.

What model is your drive?

Weird. Does your DVD player actually say DVD Video when it's playing the movie? I ask because,

isn't what shows up when I put in a movie DVD. It always says more. Looks almost like a data DVD from that.

Hi there,
Actually I have given that disc 2 my frnd & I don't know that his stand alone DVD player has played it as data disc or DVD movie disc. I will definetly let u know if i ever get a chance 2 play that disc in an DVD player(I don't have 1). Afterall I wan't 2 play it in my system.

I have just installed CloneCD v5.2.0.0 & AnyDVD v5.0.0.0 but they also failed, I think that it's any copy protection technique which is not yet cracked.

If you use Dvd Decrypter, which is free, the are no copy protections that haven't been cracked. Your time would be well spent reading the guides and forums on this site. Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply,
I even tried DVD Decrypter, but it also deosn't works. Here's the details which comes in the right hand side Box.

SONY CD-RW CRX320E NYK5 (ATAPI)
Current Profile: DVD-ROM

Disc Information:
Status: Complete
Erasable: No

Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):
Book Type: DVD-R
Part Version: 5
Disc Size: 120mm
Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified
Number of Layers: 1
Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)
Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit
Track Density: 0.74 um/track
First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608
Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 0
Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0

At the botom most label of the main windows of DVD Descrypter it's written that Disc is empty.

I even tried CD/DVD Diagnostic available from infinadyne.com but even it was not able to open the disc.

I read a forum on a different site where a person was facing the same problem & he was able to open the disc on another drive. If i ever get a chance to test the cd on diff. drive I will definetly do it.

I think this might be your problem. Somehow your disc started burning in the middle instead of the beginning.

However, I think that whatever is the source of the problem, you still have a disc that computers don't like.

By the way, there's a new update for AnyDVD again. That might help you.

you guys aren't using your computer for other things while copying DVD's are you? It's best to leave the computer alone while this is going on. Also is this the only movie you have this problem with? Have you tried different blank media?

Thanks for the reply
Well! I use my machine as my own child.. I don't put much load on it.

This is the only disc with which I am facin the problem.
Today I tried some of the data recovery softwares like CDroller & Badcopy Pro...

Cdroller shown the size of the dvd as 3.61 GB, might be correct. I feel that cdroller will also not be able to recover the data bcoz I noticed that the LED light which is at the front of the combo was not lighting at all when cdroller was performing the read operation. I don't have the full version so I cannot save the file, retrived by CDroller.

In short I need some better data recovery software probably not ISObuster. I even tried CloneCD 5.2.1 & AnyDVD 5.1.1.1 nut no change..

Can u suggest 1.

Thanks
Rahul
