I use DVDshrink, DVDdecrypter, DVD43 and Patin-couffin, all of them are the latest versions. For almost all the new DVD titles, has been impossible to rip them. I always end up with a "IFO/BUP file patching failed" message (when I use Decrypter). When I use Shrink it will simply stop like is stuck or something. No message here, just stops. All these DVD titles that I'm talking about are region 2 as I'm located in Europe. Please guys somebody help. I'm desperate.

Make sure you have the latest versions on all your software. Have you tried to run DVD Decrypter without DVD43? Also, have you tried AnyDVD? There's a 21-day free trial on it, using that I have never run into any problems.

I just downloaded the trial version of AnyDVD and I'm going to put it in test right away. As far as for using Decrypter without DVD43 the answer is yes I have tried it but with the same results. What's really wierd about it, is that no matter how hard I tried, I still haven't found nobody into this forum reporting a problem like that.
I'm going to post again to let you know if AnyDVD solves the problem. Thanks a lot Squizzle.

OK, I did some searching and it appears this error is because of encryption. Are you sure you have the latest version of Decrypter (3.5.4)? If you do and it still won't work, you might find more help on Decrypter's forums: http://forum.dvddecrypter.com/

By the way, is this movie the Forgotten?

Don't use DVDdecrypter if you're running DVD43 in the background. What version do you have in DVD43? I think the latest version is 3.5.2.113 (dvd43). Here's a hint on how to use DVD43, put the orignial dvd into your drive/dvd-rom, play it for atleast 1 - 2 minutes then start DVD43 from program, start and click on it to run (if DVD43 doesn't run right away when you inserted the original dvd into the drive). This will detect the copy-protection and it will turn into a "red devil face" and then shortly it should have a "smiley green face" on your windows taskbar icon. <---- this mean that it's ok to back up the movie/dvd now. If it doesn't show any smiley green face then restart your comp. and do the same thing as above. Another good "copy righted/protection free" sofware is "DVDIdle Pro 5.8.2" - this is the latest version and it will bypass any new protection also.

I've used DVD43 with Nero 6 Ultra, 1Click DVD Copy 4.1 and sometimes with InterVideo Dvd Copy 3. It always does a good job without any issue at all. However, 99% of the times when I use InterVideo Dvd Copy 3 to do a backup/burn, I prefer DvdIdle Pro due to the fact that they're more compatible with each other.

Hope this help and have fun burning.

Thanks to Squizzle's idea to try with AnyDVD instead of DVD43 the problem has been solved (so far...). It seems that DVD43 doesn't cooperate well with DVDdecrypter(Alkohol was right). When I installed AnyDVD, I was able (again) to rip just about...ANY dvd. So guys keep in mind that where DVD43 doesn't do the job, AnyDVD will just do. The DVDs that gave me troubles were Sun Warrior (Seagal), After the Sun (Brosnan) and some others that I can't remember now. But unexpectedly not the Forgotten nor Resident Evil(these were just...ok Simple and easy as everything else in the past). Of course I got to remind you that I'm talking about region 2 European versions. I just have the feeling it must be some kind of new protection. Maybe this ARcoS thing. From Athens Greece, thanks for your help guys.

Glad you got it sorted out. I personally love AnyDVD, I think it's one of the best programs out there, although apparently not everyone feels that way.

Greece huh? You know, there's people from all over the world here, and whenever I read about where someone lives I want to go there (especially Australia, that would be awesome). So from here in New York, United States, cheers, happy burns.

I've been in States. I spend two years studying there. And I've been to many places, NY included.(also:Orlando, Seattle, Newport, San Antonio, San Diego, Las Vegas etc) I had the time of my life! I loved States. And I keep going back for vacations (Orlando mostly)almost every year. Great country and nice people, I mean it. See ya.

Nice people? Can't be talking about New York. Robin Williams said it right when he talked about people being nice here: "Have a nice day, asshole." "Yeah, f*** you my friend!"

I lived in Florida for a while, it was pretty nice. I don't think I'd ever move back there though. I like my seasons to change.

All the big cities of the world are the same. People are just roude (have I written this right?).The same is for Athens of course. Because I had the great luck to be staying at a lot of different cities during my staying in States, I think people were nicer at Orlando than anywhere alse I have been. The worse? That's got to be Paris! Sucks. Anyway, I didn't spend that much time in NY so...
By the way, I tried to spot a crack for the latest AnyDVD's version but I just can't find anything. You have any tip for me about it? You think one of the newer versions (that I can find cracks/keygens) will do the job?

Just a word of advice, it's unwise to talk about cracks on this site. I must say that some people seem to be having difficulties with the newer versions of AnyDVD (5.0 and later), but give it a shot.
