Have you tried DVD Decrypter (free) or AnyDVD (21 day free trial)?
Here's a link to a House of Flying Daggers thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/181858

I use DVD Shrink and decrypter together, haven't tried to burn this show though. Upgraded decrypter to the newest version. Movies that people have probs with i have not. Try this guide. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/reccomended.html

AnyDVD will do. Don't worry. First run AnyDVD and then rip the movie usind DVD Decrypter. It won't be any problem.

How do you overide or get around the copy protection? Easy, just use DVD Decrypter [free] and DVD43 [free with latest v3.5.3.113] and Shrink it with Shrink. HOFD is nothing special period.
