Hi,

I've got a quick question about 5.1 and DTS audio on a DVD.

Is DD 5.1 downmixed on stand-alone players that don't support it?

Also, if I include 2 audio tracks on a DVD, lets say a DTS track as the first and a DD 5.1 track as the second. Will a stand-alone DVD player switch to the DD 5.1 track if it can't play DTS tracks? My guess is, it won't. I figure I'll have to include a quick menu at the start of the DVD to allow the user to switch to the appropriate audio track. Am, I correct in assuming this?

I believe so

My dvd player has a button on the remote control and an on screen menu selection for the audio (independent of the disc) so you can choose it that way. I assumed that they all had this feature?

My DVD player has the same options for changing audio tracks. I wasn't sure if all of them were like that or not.
