Good Evening All--
I just read in a different thread about booktype bit-setting making homemade backups more likely to play in stand alone DVD players. My question is can this be done with my DVD writer which is the one that came in my computer--HP 300c is the model burner and it uses DVD+R media. Most of my backups play in most DVD players, but not in my neighbors high-end Sony stand-alone, nor my brothers Sony (different model)--but both are about 3-4 years old--I have learned in this forum that by changing the booktype setting to DVD-Rom in the menu under CSS in DVD Decryptor that possibly they will be able to play in their machines. If this is true, I would like to try it. My problem is that I don't have any of the burners that are listed and am having trouble locating information that could help me figure it out. Sorry for the long post--just would like these two people to be able to few my backups and not have to loan them originals--Any information around that could help me figure it out? Thanks for any advice.
