Final word on Linkyo dvd+/-r from supermediastore.com?

Hello all, I've read a lot about bargain-priced Linkyo discs from supermediastore.com, with many comments being positive. On the other hand, some people say these discs are fake TY media. Does anyone know for sure if they're fake and, if so, how they know this to be true? Thanks.

I bought them and the media code is TYG02. I cant not use it with Nero and my burn (dont know the name since i bought the system from Sony.) However, my friend burned them fine with NTI but he could not do it with Nero. No idea why. Hope it help.

i can tell you right now i have enough experience with genuine TY media to tell you right away whether or not they are real or not.
if na_tra states they are TYGO2, but, if there are no GGxxxxxx or GDxxxxx markings on the inner hub, they are FAKE. i guarantee you this. also, if you can find out from supermediastore whether or not they are actually MADE IN JAPAN, that is another sure sign right there. i have 25 pk of FAKE TY's w/ the TYGO2 media id code that seem VERY similar to these Linkyo's everyone is talking about. mine are made in taiwan and i also have problems burning with Nero on them, at first i thought they were the hyundai brand w/ fake TY coding, but now, i am leaning more towards the linkyo brand.
if you would be so kind as to tell me what the inner hub markings say, i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt whether they are real or not, i've realized after being scammed myself that those dvdidentifier programs don't really mean sh**, faking a media code is so rampant now that if i owned a manufacturing company, naturally, i would fake a Taiyo Yuden code just for the fact that their name is so widely respected. it's all about making money for these companies, they could care less that they are offering the consumer a lower grade product, as long as they make money, they don't care.
im looking at my FAKE TYs right now, the inner hub says "-R8X DH-05-19" i KNOW 100% these are fake, they code out as TYGO2 as well, i think they are the hyundai branded ones, but, i might be wrong if someone will post a Linkyo inner hub description on here. i was given these fake ones from a friend months ago, tried burning them using my usual setup and the quality is very inconsitent, the dye on the bottom is also MUCH lighter purple color than my genuine TYs...
hope that helps, if you have any questions regarding authentic TYs...many people on here will agree i KNOW what i am talking about w/ over a thousand burns so far, my research on authentic TYs has paid off with my many burns and i know my TY media like the back of my hand. :)
good luck to you all, if the Linkyo's work for you, you are very lucky and happy burning, if not, then all i can say is you got stuck w/ FAKE TY's..and you get what you paid for.

the inner circle of the Linkyo I bought has the same # like yours:
-R8X DH-05-19. my question is why you kept saying it's fake? what's FAKE here? The LINKYO said it's LINKYO not TY. I am confused with your message.

I have burned over 500 of the linkyo hub printable dvd-r without a problem and just purchased 500 more from supermediastore.com. They do identify with the Taiyo Yuden code and the box says maide in taiwan.
FAKE my guess is yes but for $140.00 for 500 they have worked out well for me.The ones I burned last year still play fine in all 4 of my players.

like i said, my friend also has no problem with Linkyo hub printable -R 8X. also, Linkyo never said it's twin of TY. So, it cant be FAKE TY at all.

they are DEFINITELY FAKE TY's...the "made in taiwan" gives it away without further doubt.
i understand that Linkyo never "claims" to be TY, THAT is the reason they are fake. the fact that they are made in taiwan too...should be a dead giveaway.
think about it, when you use a dvd identifier program...and you are finding out the media id code from a disc that you already KNOW it's origin of production, in this case, made in taiwan, i can reassure you that NO REAL TY's are EVER produced in taiwan, all genuine TY's are MADE IN JAPAN.
whether you have success or not with them, that is purely based on your individual setup, but, i can tell you right now they are FAKE Ty's (the Linkyos).
if you need me to explain this concept further, feel free to PM me and i can answer all your questions regarding authenticity of TY media, i have gone through thousands of genuine TYs and also are in contact w/ a rep. from Taiyo Yuden of North America to verify my finds...so have a good day, don't be mad at me, im not the one who sold you fake TY's. im just mearly explaining to you how to tell between the real deal and the fake media id coded ones case in point.

666, haha u r so nut to defense your TY. i dont really care about what brand name out there. as long as it works for me and cheap. then, i m happy with it. i have no intention to use them for so call "long term storage" nor want to live up to 100 years and then bring those disc out and play with them ;-).

well, i defend MYSELF when someone accuses me of not knowing what im talking about~ i happen to have more experience than 90% of the users on here when it comes to Taiyo Yuden, that is why i so highly recommend them, that is also why i am more than willing to help anyone that asks "how do i tell if it is a real or fake TY?"
i am simply stating that the Linkyo's that you and others have used with little or no problems are DEFINITELY FAKE Taiyo Yudens. regardless if you don't care of what brands you use or whatnot, i am simply stating the FACT that those are fake TYs; that is all i said.
if they work for you, great~ im happy to hear that, just wanted to let other people know that these Linkyo's are just another manufacturer to add to the growing list of FAKE TYS out there right now. i am trying to give people a CLEAR picture of what is FAKE and what is REAL, that was the ONLY point i was trying to make~

na_tra, i don't use TY's myself (am more than happy with my Verbatim datalifeplus), but if ever i did want to know anything about TY discs, guess whose posts i would refer to for info - kivory666's many, many TY posts (plus Verbatim for that matter)..
