ok I read the forum with the Emule lowid issue and solution in the previous forum. I just have a new piece of info thought I like to share it with you guys. Also, no1 really posted anything for more than 2 weeks, so I thought I start up another thread.
First off, I have done the port forwarding AND port triggering hoping that it would solve my problem, but it didnt. I still have the same problem as I did before. I have came down to 2 possible reasons for why its happening.
1. does any1 know if there is a different set of ports needed to be forwarded for Emule +? I noticed that there is a big different between emule and emule +.
2. I called up Earthlink who is my ISP, and took a few calls and a lot of time on the phone to finally get some1 that that knew what they were talking about. Apparently, Earthlink (I dunno if DSL ISP's does the same) has different packages. The personal account, which was the one I had, could only allow 1 computer to operate normally. If a network is set up through a router, there will be conflicts with the firewall and prevents u from doing any type of forwarding. If you want to setup a network you will have to pay $10 extra per monthly for the home network package. It's just such bologne!!
I have had Optimum online, comcast, verizon as my ISP before I moved to this new location and I have never had an issue such as this. Emule worked fine with my previous ISP under a router with firewall.
I thought that one possible solution is to buy a modem or a router with the built-in modem, since it's their modem that causes the problems. But I just dont feel like spending another $50 - $100, just for emule.
Any1 else have any ideas, would be appreciated.
