Hello

I am hoping to transfer 20 year old Cine films to DVD and have been told that this is possible using a DV tape Camera. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to achieve the best results. I believe that they produce special glass screens so that you can record the images from the other side rather than just pointing the camera at the projection screen but no one I have spoken to seems to know where to get them from. I am a little lost as to where to start, any help would be reatly appreciated.

The box I remember worked somewhat like a periscope. The projector was beamed into one opening and the video camera was focused into another opening. They were at a 90% angle to each other. It was supposed to work better than taping off a screen because the room had to be almost dark to use the screen. Results were so so with the device. Bright white areas of color tended to wash out completely but they did work to some degree. I can't remember the exact name of the box so I'll try to research it. Not sure if they still sell them but should be some around.
