Is this a cd-based ps2 game that you are trying to burn with CDRwin? Or is it a dvd-based game?

Yes, i believe CdrWin only handles cd-r's. You might want to look into 'Dvd Decrypter' as it is free from this site and is simple and effective.

Is it a fliptop for an older ps2, or is it just a slimline you're using with SwapMagic? Also, what version of SwapMagic are you running?
What media are you using and what speed are you burning at? (should be quality media, and might want to burn at 1x or 2x)

Your media may be the problem, as nothing else seems to be incorrect here. You have only had 1 game so far successfully work, with the same brand media you have been trying with all the others?
I would suggest changing your media to a higher quality brand, such as Verbatim:datalifeplus, TaiyoYuden(fuji), Philips,TDK,HP, or similar.

That's odd, doesn your original copy of EpisodeIII play fine? I have no idea why some games work and this one won't. There is nothing special about EpIII to burn it, just a normal one.

had a ? if lets say a friend wanted to download a game from the net (kazza, winmx, etc.) what kind of file would he look for and how would he (a friend) back it up to a disc?

Well with downloading, just because a file is called what you're looking for, doesn't mean that's what you're going to be getting.
But, when creating backups we generally make .iso image files, so i guess you would want that. Many times it seems they compress files with WinRAR or similar though.
Other than that, i don't know.

Tell "your friend" that he'll have to burn it with DVD Decrypter at a slow speed, but one that your media supports. Open DVD Decrypter, choose MODE>ISO>WRITE
Put in your blank DVD (High quality Media, RITEK etc.) and wait.
Look at the right-hand panel, it will show "supported speeds".
Now you should burn at the slowest speed that is listed here.
