Your media is the problem. Cheap no-name media tends to loose storage over time. I'm suprised they played at all, never heard of those. For vidio reproduction you need to use good, high quality, proven media. Recommended brands are Taiyo Yuden (beware of fakes), Verbatum (AZO dye) Maxell, Fuji, Ricohjpn, and most sony. Branded Ritek Ridata's are usually good budget media. Stay away from memorex, no-name brands and retail store branded media.

Mr pink,

I am not so quick to agree that it is the media - however, I am not dismissing it.

The only thing I want to add is .... ARE YOU USING LABELS ON YOUR DISKS? IF YOU ARE THAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. Labels have long been a problem when it comes to DVDs reading sometimes or not. If you are not putting labels on them, then it is probably because of the cheap media. I have backed up hundreds of movies using various different media. I have had success with alot of media and have had problems with others. I have used Memorex, Sony, verbatim, TDK, Fuji ... and some people will say those are Great, but i have always had problems with FUJI and I am taking a set of Sony's back for a refund this w/e. Sometimes you get a bad batch here and there. But in my opinion - media-wise - You cant go wrong with TDK and Verbatim

zhelpz is right, labels can definely cause that problem also. If you want to print on the discs, you cant go wrong with some verbatum hub printables (any made by MCC). These code out MCC 003. http://www.meritline.com/verbatim-8x-dvd-r-plus-inkjet-hub-printa...
