You need to open ports on your router for BitTorrent to work properly. What client are you using at the moment? I recommend Azureus, it is very newbie friendly and also opens some of the ports for you. But be sure to get version 2.2.0.2 as the latest version has some problem.

To open ports on your router, you'll have to refer to your manual or website... but if you use your common sense you'll find it in your router configuration page. =P

You use Rogers, right? I get 350kbs max on BitTorrent, and that's with the SUPER/Professionally fast torrents, so 200+ is an excellent speed, unless you're using sites such as EliteTorrents and TorrentBytes, in which case you should hit my max speed constantly.

Hi guys, I'm just having a few problems that I would like some help with. I am using BitComet as my torrent client and I can only get download rates of abotu 15 Kbps. I was downloading a disc image the other night and I can only get around 50 Kbps at a maximum.

ISP: 512k Pipex Broadband

Router: Creative Broadband Blaster 8133u

I think that I have set up port forwarding correclty but I am not completely sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Andy
