don't use the wizard
use the UDF/ISO compilation no multisession or any relaxed rules
add the folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS manually
put you files in VIDEO_TS.

Burn away

I do not use the wizard. This still happens. I also have tried burning with DVD Decrypter. It tells me the same thing. DVD Files have failed reallocation.

I used DVDDecrypter to copy the whole DVD to my hard drive. I then used IFOEdit to split the DVD files into 2 folders. I then followed the doom9 guide (for splitting a dvd into 2 dvds). Basically making sure the first title set was on both disks and distributing the rest of the files between the 2 disks. This is all in the guide. The only problem I have is from Nero when I go to burn the disks. The first disk has the problem. DVD File Reallocation Error. Even using DVDDecrypter...I get the same error. I CAN go ahead and burn the disk.. but.. it did not work.

I didn't realise u were splitting to 2 dvdr's.
I have not done this yet cos I am lazy and will be re-encoding when my higher spec pc is built however.(don't want to get up to change discs)

Have u looked on ifoedit.com there r a no. of guides there including 2dvdr's?

See if it helps

have not checked Ifoedit.com. I will check it out. Anyway... the 2nd disk always works fine when I go to burn it. No File reallocation error.

If you aren't using DVD video setting then you shouldn't be getting DVD reallocation failure because it doesn't know it's burning a video.

Are you sure you are choosing DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) from the menu?

Just thought a good way to test ur ifoediting with ur 2 dvd files is play them in ifoedit and generally if they play ok then it would be a burning issue!

Ok... I burned a movie.. it starts up in the dvd player. If I hit play... it freezes. If I go into scene selection and pick a scene...the movies plays fine. Whats the deal with that?

Does it play in ifoedit's dvd player?
If so then it is probably the burning programs compatibilty with ur player.
I have experienced this recently so I tried several methods. My initial method was with nero
using the UDF/ISO method which was compatible with 3 out of 4 of my players.I wanted ALL 4.

I used nero BUT JUST THE UDF option and version 1.02 and it worked.
It worked for me ALL 4 give it a try.

Now I get another error when trying to play the movie. This also occurs while trying to play in IFOEdit. This is the error "DVD Warning: An illegal navigation command was encountered"

any ideas?

I have received the same error of "Dvd Reallocation Failed." What I did to fix this problem was, I went back into IFOEdit and opened up the VIDEO_TS.IFO and clicked on GET VTS Sectors. Then I opened up VTS_TS.IFO and clicked on GET VTS Sectors again. That has always taken care of that reallocation problem.

Oops, I meant to say open up VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_XX.IFO (not VTS_TS.IFO) and then click GET VTS Sectors for each file in IFOEdit.

Have u checked out ifoedit.com cos the above error is covered on the guides there.

It looks like you have mismatched files(by ifoedit).

Have both discs got vts_1 in the video_ts.ifo files and r the vobs named vts_1 or are they any other no.
If the vts_1 in video_ts.ifo relates to the movie vobs then the movie vobs need to be named similar
