im not sure what to think........my 1st DVR was a Cyberhome.....thank God i got the Ex warrenty......a good idea for all this stuff.
i made 20 discs on that b4 it !@#$-up......they would not play on any of the 3 new DVRs i tried.....except [iLO].......add the HHD and i was happy............
.......for a while.
I made a few discs for a buddys from his DV cam..........they didn't work for him, i get them back and see [invalid disc].....what, they originated here---i finalized them-------that led to a NEW iLO.
i believe all DVD +/ - R's are tempermental.........i was told to make sure to use iLo tested discs..........memorex and even Sony are NOT approved.
this is what concerns me..i joined the Blockbuster online mail DVD thing
and many of those 'commercial' DVDs are skipping and freezing in the iLo.
they do work on my MAC even the Play2 and their OK.........the DVDs do look beatup, old......i want to cancil blockbusters service......but what if its iLo's fault ???????
i want what we all want and deserve........a DVR that will work universaly w/ all current players.
But as a 'professional'.....would you trust a DEMO DVD to be sent never knowing if it will work on the clients player ?....i feel like staying w/ VHS !
The features on iLo are pretty good for the money.......the HHD alone is a great feature......it works like a TiVo which i endorse.....i save to tape i trust it will work....w/ DVD-R....we never know.
So can you all post what boxes have been the best and work UNIVERSAL.
im curious if iLo when recorded on.....
-TDK
-Imation
-Phillips
and then finalized properly will work the best. i have also been told that useing HQ (1hour) is not as friendly as longer formats.
one last cool feature of iLo 04.....you can EDIT commercials OUT !!!!! that is so great.
