recently i emailed my internet provider about my bittorent download rate cause i was reading articles about them slowing bt dowloads down and they are puting special software that slows it down. so when i emailed them about this all they said was

Shaw has not decreased speeds for any of our services, in fact recently We upgraded our High Speed service to 5Mbps and our Xtreme-I service to 7Mbps. The articles may have mentioned the upcoming implementation of QOS (Quality of Service). QOS looks at the type of information being transmitted and prioritizes it based on what it is, for example file sharing information (people sharing and downloading games, movies and music) would be set to a lower priority than e-mail and normal browsing, which would decrease the over all speed for people downloading large amounts of information, but will provide more stable speeds to people using email and browsing web pages.
