V300 Constant recognizing by xp

I've notice that if I don't load pst, mpt, or pkman first I find that xp won't recognize my motorola phone. Always unknown usb device.. . Have I done something wrong or is this why I can't get flash/flex to work. SOmetimes its just keeps flashing unknown usb device and I can't find it in device manager. Thats when I have to unplug and start a program... The multiflex program is the only I can't run... Any suggestions are welcomed and thanked.
