Anyone heard aboutthe gov't lawsuits targeting people who downloaded from Kazaa within the last two years?

I've been wondering the same thing and I don't have an answer for you but I am writing because maybe someone will take the trouble to answer the question - the more the merrier. What I've been wondering is, with all this fuss about bit torrent, how come there's no word about Big Brother attacking Kazaa. Could it be because of all the advertising and spyware? Makes you wonder.

Yeah, I know what you mean. A couple of years ago it was different, and now when you download from Kazaa, you gotta run spybot and adaware 3+ times to get rid of all the crap. Not worth the hassle which is why I haven't downloaded in a loooonnnnng time. My concern is that they find records of stuff, a lot of which doesn't even exist on my cpu's cause of formats and crashes, that gets me now and did not before when everyone was downloading.

I'm gonna check into it, see if I can pick up some pearls of wisdom in other forums on the net. Maybe I'll get lucky. The good news is that every time the MPAA et al puts the screws to some p2p application, good ol' programmers come up with a better algorithm. I don't think they will ever get the better of them[i/].
