Is there a batch file and/or toc that I can write to burn a file ("c:\My Documents\archive.rar") on to a data mode CD-R (CD-R drive is F:)? I have messed around with cdrdao, but apparently I am a little dense to figure it out. EAC + CDRDAO works fine, so does VCDeasy + CDRDAO (therefore I know the program works with the ASPI, CD-R drivers, etc.). Drive is Creative 8432; OS is win98se...

Any help would be appreciated.

PS: Good luck with your new board.

Isn't it an old DOS program ? With modern software, there is just to drag'n drop the files to burn. Unless you've bought an OEM burner (bare burner), it should have come with such a program like Nero, EasyCD, or WinOnCD.

If you just need one file, there is a solution anyway : get the demo of CDRWin, it is limited in 1x speed, but it can burn.
Clic the fourth icon (file backup and tools), and drag your file into the main window.

CDRDAO in fact is supposed to be quite good software, but unfortunately I have never used it.

Do you have a special reason why do you wish to do this task with CDRDAO?

macdaddy:

With Adaptec Direct CD you can easily use dos batch files to automate your burning chores. Or use the command line on-the-fly. (ex. "copy *.exe f:\folder"), or simply put your oft-used batch files right on your desktop for simple double-click convenience.

I have to warn you about DirectCD, since it conflicts with some other CD-R wares. But there are many similar apps out there.

I am looking for an open-source burning solution, so cdrdao is the one. The latest version is automated to burn audio cds in EAC; ditto for VCDs and SVCDs in VCDeasy...

I have been using Nero for years (it came with my burner). But it is also one of the only tools I use that is not open source (and the only one I cannot do without). But they will continue to change their versions, and charge for the upgrade. I am aware this is entirely their perogative, but it does NOT mean that I have to continue using their product. Roxio is the same way, and imho their product is inferior to ahead software's offering...

I am sure I will figure it out by thoroughly RingTFM, but I was hoping somebody on this forum could give me a quick and dirty batch script to move me along...

Thanks for the input. Any (and all) help is appreciated.
