What's this blu-ray thing? Do I need a special burner to copy one?
Who makes this burner and how much is it?
Do I need a special spray paint to paint my Ps3 case? Like does one spray paint stick better than others?
Who said white was in this year for game consoles?

About the paint....lead paint would work the best but...if you can't find it use laytex with a chinese hog bristle brush...

Blu-Ray is KIND OF like a DVD only LOTS bigger i think in the 50 gig range or so though not 100% sure.

It depends on how many layers blu-ray disc has. One layer can hold up to 27GB of data, and I heard that there's option for max 8 layers.

I think the discs should be 10-50 layers!!!
Forking out $100 or so for a disc thats less than two millimetres thick seems like a waste of money, give me a big chunk of a game the size of a thick slice of toast, thats value for money, bring back catridges!

I know. A blank dvd can hold more than 4 gigs and they cost about a dollar each or less in most sites try buying a memory card for your camera or something that can hold 4gb for a dollar

Blu-ray blank media is supposed to priced righ twith DVD because the disc does not use a glass layer, which cost alot more for DVD. Actually Blu-ray media is susposed to be even cheaper.
The standard home blu-ray drive will use ~25GB single layer and ~50GB dual layer discs. The more and more layers deal is probally a seriously misconstrued rumor. Philips is working with SOny to develope 150GB blu-ray media, but it uses a more expensive disc and far more expensive drive. Mostly for IT back-ups and business. That is the next level up not more layers, an intense laser is require to read the lands and pits on deeper layers, an intense laser is also what creams rewritable discs when you want them blank, think this stuff over before you talk magic. You did hear it right though,
"it also includes support for multi-layer discs, which should allow the storage capacity to be increased to 100GB-200GB (25GB per layer) in the future simply by adding more layers to the discs."
This however is support for blu-ray that isn't proven yet. Notice the 100GB span between the estimate. They doubt and haven't developed the technology for 100GB four layer disc yet. The laser would end up obliterting data on layer one. This is pure specualtion because people heard of the 150GB disc and could think of nothig else but more layers.
However, the 150GB discs are developed by Philips but do not use 8 layers or 4 or 3 for that matter. It is a dual layer disc that utilizes a 25nm gap, comparable to a HDD, with a high numerical aperature objective lens and a solid immersion lens.
The goal is to tighten the area required to write and read without reading the one next to it on the disc. The idea of excessive layers shows a lack of knowlege in optical drives and media. bluray.com did just that, you have to wonder if these sites are actually "official" because they tend to speak nonsense and theory.
This is not found on home blu-ray drives or the PS3 however. Much more expensive and still being fully developed.

Anecdotal, by my definition, it's the way too many people here think. It's also all the evidence you have.

Thanks, that answered many questions. All I knew from blu-ray is what I've seen on news.

Send me a link to that site. Four layers is reasonable, but eight seems a little much. If the site checks out, it might be a two sided disc with a separater in the middle four layers on each half, you just have to flip it over. That's a possibility or it's rubbish, send me a link.

Strange, but very sweet. The BD laser must not generate as much heat that would damge the initial layers. Considering it is entirely different this should have sounded more reasonable, but it didn't, my bad :) Thanks for the links.
