im going to buy a cd rw drive for my dell inspiron 1150 laptop, should i get an external dell burner or a diff brand, anyone know anything about the dell burners? My friend spilt soda on her keyboard and some of the letters r sticky, any way to unstick them, cuz it wireless and don't wanna buy a new one if unnecessary

go with a different brand cd burner for external. carefully take the keys off to clean the top of keyboard but write down location of all keys before you do take them off. might have to take keyboard apart if soda got inside

Yes, I think it would be wise to open up the keyboard and strip it down and give it a really good rinse off.
Soda can be VERY corrosive to the internal membrane in keyboards........

...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............

You can also try using WD40 spray under the keys, (lightly,) and then blow off ALL excess moisture outside preferably. Then spray under the keys, (lightly,) silicon spray. Again blow dry using cool air with a final wipe dry.

If this doesn?t work, then at least you might have a very stylish keyboard with a new ?due.? <G>

Iomega makes a good external. its steardy 2..my roomate has owned an earlier model for years. Dropped it, banged it...still kicken!
