Torrent Advice Please Halp Me!!!

Hi
I have just donloaded a torrent and run it in BitTorrent
The game has just finished and is classed as a WinRar Archive which is 2,381,940 KB when i double click on it, it says :
The Archive is either in unknown format or damaged
This has happend with everyone i have downloaded can anyone help?

mine does this sometimes, try this it works for me ------drag the file into a new folder, and right click the rar file and choose extract here, it should work now ,,mine does

Hi i tried that but it says No Archive found : This archive is either in unknown format or damaged

have you finished downloading the file 100% ? the torrent file only allowes the "real" download to start, it must then download until it gets to 100% then it will start to seed

The Game downloaded 100% then i closed the application
I then created an archive in WinRAR and loaded up the archive but the only file extracted was the same WinRAR application as the one downloaded

go back to bittorent and let the program check to see whether or not you have 100% of the file. If you do, then something wrong with the archive and not you.

You can also try upgrading WinRAR. I've seen lots of people have problems similar to yours then have it all work out after they upgrade WinRAR.

I Have downloaded the full torrent and upgraded WinRAR but it still wont work can someone post a Step-by-Step guide right from when you downloaded the torrent to burning it onto a disc please then i can find out if i have done everything correctly

rar files are simple to use,or should be
i once got stumped on once,but i was about half dead at the time!!!
thats my excuse
anyways
what files are they??...whats the name of them
what do they look like??
how many are they??
what game is it,and what torrent site did you get it from..>i will check it out
dont post the link to the torrent(against the rules).....just give me the site address

I downloaded the torrent off solops2.com it is Coldwinter
I downloaded it then ran the torrent in BitTornado it was complete after about 9 hiurs and said 100% completed successfully
and there is now a RAR Archive in My Documents but when i double click on it it says The Archive is either in unknown format or damaged???

try changing the extension of the file to something like .iso or .exe or .com and double click on it and see if it opens.

you dont double click rar files
with torrents from solops,you will need the password,as you may know
right click on the first file,and select "extract here",then enter the password
you will need WinRAR of course,
this should give you an iso,which you burn
if this dont work,you have a dodgy download,or corrupt/damaged files,in which case you are screwed

When i right click on the file a click Extract Here it says archive is in unknown format or damaged
How do you change the extension?
Please help because i really want to play the game

right click,
then open with...then find winrar
see what happens

sounds like its phucked
as last resort
control panel>folder options> view > "untick"....> hide extensions for unknown file types
see what the file shows up as now
if this dont work,you have a useless download,and will have to download it again

thats it i'm afraid,you have obviously got a bogus download,something is wrong,
i have downloaded lots of torrents fom solops,and all i do
is use WinRAR to extract the iso
as long as you have the latest version of WinRAR installed,or even a old version for that matter,it should unpack
you have used the password havent you????
have you entered the password????????

He's not wrong, u probably got a bogus download. It took me 10 hours to download the Family Guy Season 1 and ALL OF THE FILES have no sound. The file is 1.5 GB, how u like that.

what you should have is a folder containing a whole bunch of rar file???
rar .001 002 etc.....yes???
they look like 3 books strapped together with a belt
you need a program called winrar,you have that right???
when you right click on the first rar file,and click "extract here",
a little extraction box should pop up,then the ,"message password required",or something like that.
you get the password from solops2.com
you copy and paste this in the little box,and the iso will extract
all i can think of,you havent got winrar installed,...or
you have got winrar installed,but you are trying to open it using something else

I have the same problem with WinRAR. I downloaded 2 different games and 1 program and they al act the same. I tried to download the program again and opend it with WinRAR but nothing has changed.
If someone has an answer--> please help us.

If you guys have WinRAR installed, and you d/l'ed a complete file 100% through, and you are getting this error when trying to uncompress it, it sure looks like it's a corrupt file to me.
When you look at your .rar file does it have the icon with 3 books stacked on top of each other?
Unless i missed it, you never said what extension this file was when you unticked 'hide extensions', what is it?
Unfortunately, Hursty has explained what to do to get this thing working, if it isn't working, it seems you probably just got a corrupt file.
