does reformatting a pc affect azureus?

Here's the problem. I've recently reformatted my computer and had to reinstall a majority of my old software, azureus being one of old software. I've tried to reinstall the program (2.3.0.2), but my torrents don't seem to connect at all. I've made sure to open ports on my firewall (53000+) My router had the proper adjustments made pre-format and they still remained post-format. I ran a port test and I don't have NAT errors, so I've ruled that out. The only thing that I changed was my account name on XP. I've installed all the windows updates including sp2 and I had azureus set on my exceptions list. Is there something that's being overlooked? as far as I can tell I've got everything set the way I had it before my reformat. Any constructive input would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Did you download the Java environment as well?
Azureus wont run without the latest java installed.

help! i still havent' figured out what happened with my Azureus, i havent been able to get torrents from any site, as far as i know i havent been banned or blacklisted
