Disk Full errors on Brand new disks...

I've had my Sanyo DRW-500 for a couple of months and this afternoon got hit up with this new wrinkle.

I inserted a new Maxel DVD+R disk and it went thru the startup like normal. Then stop came up (abnormal). I set my dvr to pause right before the program was to start and hit record on the remote. It showed record on the screen (with the normal pause on the first track) and then stopped. Gave the Please wait... message and then Disk Error. It then popped up "Disk Full".

Yet when I hit 'Top Menu' button it shows 'New Disc'. I tried several discs from 2 different spindles. Same error on all discs. This is a new one for me. Otherwise it's been an adequat unit. I've had the same problems as others in the forum, but like them chalked it up to being a lower priced unit and sucked it up.

Any help?
