1. You need to have an ISP that gives you access to newsgroups. Most ISPs offer it freely, but some ISPs require you to pay an extra fee.

2. Get a newsreader program.

3. Enjoy and be careful what you visit. You may be digusted beyond belief.

im already set up with Giganews and NewRover as my current program. My other account was with Easynews which is a web-based server and it seemed MUCH easier to use. I was downloading 200 MB files and I could easily browse th 15 .rars and there was always the whole 200 MB file already unpacked that I could easily click and download and have the whole thing in about 10 minutes.

Using NewsRover with Giganews seems a different story. After having to click on each .rar file it seems to take FOREVER to bring the headers together, complete the rars, adn finally have the file. THis method is taking me 10 hours for a 200 MB file as opposed to 10 minutes for the same file with EasyNews. Am I doing something wrong here?
