Blocky playback when using IFOedit generated VOBs

I've been going nuts over this and wondered if anyone knew a remedy to this problem:

Any DVD that I put through IFO edit has major playback issues. I have tried doing the process on both WinXP and Win2k. I have the same problem whether it's played off my hard drive or if I burn it and stick it into a set top player. All my DVDs are NTSC Region 1. I always do the "Get VTS Sectors" option after closing and reopening IFO Edit once I'm done with everything else, and there are no other files in my VIDEO_TS directory that aren't needed for the burn.

For example, I have "The Sopranos Season 2" that I'm trying to backup. Rather than transcoding it, I'm just attempting to split the episodes over 2 discs. I open VTS_01.IFO in IFOEdit, choose "Strip VOB ID's", select the appropriate VOBID's to get rid of, and let IFOEdit go to work. All the menus and stuff are there just as I want them, and everything seems to link up. However, the resulting data of the VOB files in the actual movie/Episode turns blotchy and has all kinds of green artifacts after about 15 minutes of play, and eventually becomes unplayable altogether. Does anyone know what is causing this or how I can resolve it?

I have tried Remuxing other DVDs (such as Suicide Kings) and have gotten the similar results: choppy playback, chapters not matching up, etc...
