Well I know that a lowest speed can save you some coasters, but what is the real cause that a lowest speed make better burns and easier to read on some DVD Players?? I know a higher speed can cause buffer underun errors, but what exactly affects the burn when your burn at higher speeds, is data structure different is error correction different??? lets say I burn a DVD-R at 16x while another one at 1x both without errors or buffer underruns, would these disc be read by any player equally, is there a technical different between these 2 discs? I just wanna know why burning at lower speed could always asure you better burns?

higher speed burns are not as deep as slower speed burns so that you have a better chance to read on older drives than compared to faster burns. same applies to cds

You mean that the laser has more time to actually "burn" the spot on the dye?? and higher speed burns due to the high speed does not have the same time to burn the spot??
