Hi there every one. I've just got my new Dell axim x50v 624mhz pocket pc. It's the first pocket pc I've ever had, and was just wondering if its to add usb port to a pocket pc. What can you say about it?

I'm assuming that you want a USB port to connect peripherals that you already own to your Axim. In most cases, however, just adding a port wouldn't work. For example, let's say you have a USB memory stick that you want to plug into your Axim to copy files from/to. Won't work. You need the drivers for the memory stick, and there probably isn't a driver written for the PocketPC operating system.

So, before you start trying to find a USB adapter for your Axim, the first thing you need to find out is whether the peripheral you are trying to connect is even supported by the PocketPC OS.

You're right! Thaks a lot for the advice. I have another question I hope you could answer: I have a Motorola V550 Mobile and I'd like to Sync via Bluetooth with my pocket PC, is it possible to do that? I've been able to send/receive files from my mobile to my pocket using Bluetooth. But I'dlike to sync my calendar and contacts as well. Any advice?

Thanks!

It depends on which Bluetooth profiles are enabled on your phone. This depends not only on the phone's capabilities, but on the software that your cellular service provider has installed.

I have a Motorola V710 with bluetooth that I occasionally sync with my Dell Axim X5 with a bluetooth CF card. The only bluetooth profiles that Verizon has enabled for my phone however, are for headsets and for dial-up networking. So, I can dial up an ISP and access the internet on my Dell using the phone, but I can't transfer files to and from the 2 devices. I guess Verizon was concerned that if they enabled the file transfer profile, they would lose revenue on the 15 cents per picture they charge to download pictures taken with the phone's camera.

You will have to check with your cell phone service provider to find out what bluetooth profiles are enabled on your phone.

Ok. I'm able to connect via Bluetooh with my cell phone and send/receive calendar and contacts, it's not exactly as Auto as I'd like it to be but it's better thatn nothing. I can also dial a phone number from my X50v to my Cell phone... It's very nice.

Thaks again for everything.
