hi, i heard that the white ps3 was the cheapest, the sivler the dearest and the black one in the middle.
i heard the prices are going to be:--
white - £500 ($1000)
black - £1000 ($2000)
silver - £1500 ($3000)
is this true or just a rumor, i need 2 know because if it is i'm only getting the white one.
P.S. the reason for these prices is not the colour, its the graphics and the amount of games intended to be made for them.

Yea I think its a rumor cuz I cant think of a reason for the black and silver consoles to cost more money. Unless the silver PS3 is sterlig silver or sumthin.

I don't mean to burst anyones bubble, but the PS3 is only coming in silver. I remember Kutaragi saying that they had the three to see which one people would like the best, then he went with silver. I wish I had a link or something, and I could be wrong but think about it. Why make a console that is probally going to sell out quickly in three colors so that people can't get their color, and may be stubborn enough to wait until their color comes back in stock. Not only do I remeber Kutaragi staing it somewhere, but it's terrible marketing for a sell out product, if you have more colors. He still could change his mind back and forth though.
As to the price thing, that is the biggest load of BS I've ever seen. There will be one model selling for ~$400. Xbox 360 may/may not have a cheaper barebones edition for their system.
Fanboy is a term used to describe someone who is utterly devoted to a single subject. This generally is followed by the devotion and support even when proved wrong.
Anecdotal, by my definition, it's the way too many people here think. It's also all the evidence you have.

the 360 won't. Having the system be standard is the biggest thing that seperates Console from PC. Can you imagine buying an XBox game but having to make sure its compatible with your version (XBox 360 version: 2+) People wouldn't put up with that, the simplicity of consoles is what makes them different and appealing. You know that if you buy the game, it will work on your system (no dealing with requirments).

Barebones implies that it will not come with a HDD, and/or many other things like the wifi card or the software for media streaming etc. It will still have the same gaming abilities, just less of the flashy add-ons.
Like I said, supposedly a barebones edition. I doubt it too.
