Okay...so I'm trying to rip the audio from 7 vob files using DVD2AVI. The problem is the resulting WAV file is so fricking huge (30 Gigs) that my windows media player just hangs when I try to test play it. Also, when I tried to use this file as audio input in TmpEnc and then go to preview, I don't even see any audio on the audio display. The last DVD I ripped had no problems when I had only 5 vob files. What is my problem and is there a way around this? Thanks for any advice!
sounds like it is looping...what did you use as a ripper??? I would try a different ripper and see what vob files it rips...I have had this problem with the old version of dvd decryptor of ripping the wrong vob files (it's the movie industries way of throwing in a copy protection). I have found smartripper pretty reliable on picking the right vob files..
Thanks for the reply dbecker. I think it may have something to do with not having enough memory during dvd2avi's process of ripping the audio from the vob files, which I did use SmartRipper to get. I tried splitting this audio rip in half by ripping audio from 4 vob files and then from the remaining 3 vob files giving me a wav file for each. That worked, but now I got the problem of finding a tool to merge/append these two files. Any suggestions on good audio mergers/appenders? Thanks!
I still think something is wrong...you should not have 30gigs of audio..your audio should be at most 2gig (and that would be a 3 hour movie). how much do you get on each split audio file??
Holy crap, 30 gigs??? This is indeed way to big, like dbecker said. I think you should check your settings under the audio tab in DVDtoAvi...
Track number --> Usually track 1
Output method --> Decode to wav
Dolby Digital Decode --> Dolby Suround Downmix
Dolby Digital Decode-Dynamic Range Control --> Normal
48 -> 44.1 KHz --> Ultrahigh
The people here are correct, I believe you forgot to Set your Ripper to handle Multi-Angle files, so what happens is, your WAV file contains the audio from all angles in the movie.
