ok, so, i've been trying to get one of those hori screen protectors for awhile now but ebgames is always out of them. i got this pelican one and im afraid to use it because i've heard alot of crap about it (grainy view, super bubbly, etc.). however, im trying to cut down on getting those, as i've heard them called, "micro scratches", so my psp is now my b!+(#. but hey, i really dont want this to go on for any longer. ive spent more friggin time cleaning the damn thing than i have playing it!!!
could someone with some real experience with either please let me know if i should just go ahead and use the pelican or wait for the hori?

hey man, i have the pelican myself and yes it does blur the screen slightly. It is not going to annoy you or anything so i would recommend you go ahead and apply it until you get the other screen protector. It really does kepp the screen from getting scratched. I spent all my time cleaning my screen too just like you did. It is easily removed and will not hurt your psp. You probably heard a lot about people having all the air bubbles too though. I dont have any at all, not even one. I applied my protector very carefully starting at one end and used my hand to press out the bubbles as a slowly applied the protector. Just take your time and you should have the same sucess too and dont worry b/c you can always remove it and reapply it should you mess up.

Honestly the bubble thing is a problem that is the person applying its fault, not the products fault. If you lay it down on the screen all at once of course you will have lots of air so appy one end and slowly start smoothing it out using a rolling technique as if you had taken a stick of gum and sort of rolled it up and were now laying it out on the screen and rolling it back out smoothly while pressing it down. If you see any bubbles immediately stop, lift up a bit on the protector and remove them and then continue with the technique. I did it so i know it does work and i am not a screen specialist. It was my first time.

i bought it at gamestop but gamestop doesnt have the hori ones

and with the blurring screen, is it really not that bad? i heard it makes it like looking through a screen for a window.

Got mine from the biggest Wally world. (Wal-mart)
Also the few micro-scratches that i did have from constant cleaning are not visible at all with the protector. It just maked them invisible. But i would like to see the Hori to see if it does keep the screen from getting slightly blurred and still is as effective at stopping the scratches as the pelican. I have heard it is a better protector. Anyone have it would you please let us know what you think of it.

Trust me it is not bad as people say. Try this out if you dont beleive me. Put the screen protector on and then let someone play it without letting them know the pelican is there. Then tell them and see if them. You will have to tell them it is there and you will not notice it yourself either.

hey stash, You should consider getting a new case. I got a Pelican kit that included.

4 game protectors
1 screen protector (helps some with glare too)
1 car charger
1 set of earbuds
1 case for psp (Soft, light, durable that asorbs shock from dropping)
1 cleaning cloth

Hint to all that value their PSPs; Please fellas use that strap that came with the PSP. I have had my PSP for a while and i have not dropped it once while playing it. I always make sure i put my left wrist through the strap while i play and anyone who wants to play mine must do the same just as a saftey precaution. I have dropped it before but hey, it coulddid not have anywhere to do b/c of the wrist strap. I dont have another $300 bucks to just throw around.

Just remember to roll it on a little at a time while smoothing it out and not to just drop it down on the psp.

Good Luck.

From my use I would like to metion the PDair PSP case. This is a very light thin aircraft aluminium case. You have access to all controls. It props up for movie viewing. And best of all slips very easily it to a pocket (I travel alot with work) Some of the cons I have heard mentioned is the way it opens with the top opening back towards you. This is not a con to me, because folds back under the unit and it provides ME with a more comfortable grip when gaming. It is worth a look even if you don't like it

hehe, just like my work...as long as i don't almost blow up a golf cart again, i can ramp'em and race and do lovely smoky burnouts before going back to weed-eating...gotta love it!

everything's noted, master flip. thanks for the right quick responses. :-)

<return to topic>
if you're careful with you psp, you won't have to spend extragent bucks to buy protectors and cases for it. there's always a poor man's solution. think duct tape...it fixes everything ;-)

no matter how careful u are, its pretty easy to scratch your screen.

anyway, i got the hori protector and it works perfect. way better than the pelican. the only thing that the pelican has goin for it is its durability
