I have my HP 300i as primary on one IDE and Pioneer 108 as slave, the other ide has both of my HD, a 40 gig and a 200 gig.

You might try swapping the ID's on your opticals -- make the Pioneer master instead.

Just a thought...

Hi,
Partial Success! I moved my Pioneer to the device 0 slot on the ide to utilize the ultra dma 2. It worked, burnt a full dvd in somewhere just under 9 minutes!

Still no luck with the HP but I cant do too much as I do not have any dvd+r media that is rated over 2.4x. This is a start in the right direction. Thanks for everyones help.

Dopy
