I don't personally use Nero, but I have never come across any ps2 game with copyright protection. I have never heard anyone mention coming across this yet.
It was purchased at blockbuster video if that has anything to do with it. Hmm, maybe I'll start a new thread to see if anyone has come across this problem.
OK, sorry but I'm doing my best to keep up with this conversation... please understand I've NEVER made a copy of a PS2 game before so dont get frustrated with me... thank you.
Question: Do I HAVE TO have a mod chip installed to use burned games? If so, HOW??? WHERE??? How Much???
If not: please give me good detailed steps and I'll give it a shot. I have a DVD burner on my Desktop AND laptop and make copies of movies all the time using DVD X Plat. So I'm not a rookie to burning. Hope you can help me out too, you've done a good job with the others. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon.

OK, tried to go to that site that you recommended. Said that site was not a site anymore. Please re-advise on my above questions. Thanks a million.

coastemac:
PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.
So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.
Swap magic is offline now.
They should be back up soon.
