Is it technically possible, (for a pc illiterate like me), to add some kind of a code/key, so that my personal burned CDs & DVDs won?t run with out it?
For example just like a Windows/ Messengers password.
Not too many of us want to add protection, most are all about bypassing the protection.

So, I CHANGED YOUR THEAD TITLE and MOVED IT TO DVD-R FOR ADVANCED USERS .. it was either there or All other topics.

I agree with you flip. We all want to break codes, but would you want your house to be burgled, trespassed or a webcams all in your rooms. I don?t think so?
So these are my personal family movies whose access I want to keep in my hand ONLY!

Take care & have a scotch. May be it might lighten up your neurons & you may suggest some great ideas lol. By the way did you read that my med CD, PC # & than password technique.

what the hell are you going on about?

That's why people get home alarms ... and even that doesn't stop burglers.

what? now your not making any sense. And what the hell does this have to do with your original topic? (ie. how to add passwords to cds and dvds) <----- ya know the title I changed it to, from "code insertion".

I'm fine, ya just need to read what we post. I posted soooo many times that I changed your thread title and moved it. and ya still didn't get it.

You need to know, we are all here on our free time. And forum rule #7. Describe your problem specifically -- including the thread topic, because this helps people who are willing to answer to you.

"code insertion", most will look past that title.

Do you think that I am here posting 24 hrs? I am med doc & work 14 hrs/day & besides this give my advice, suggestions to many reputed med forums world over.

Chill out, take a break, just answered what you said earlier "Not too many of us want to add protection, most are all about breaking the protection."

Take the response positively not like some teenager brat.

One of my med CDs when run gets fully installed but won?t function.
It gives me a unique Computer # & every time I format & reinstall my OS the # is different.
I email that unique 5 digit # to the company & they send me the password.
When the password is installed, ONLY than its full features function.
What you describe here is like an activation key. Like Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Office.

I really don't see how you would accomplish this, unless you have some sort of server set up for activations. But that is what it seems your looking for.

You know what ... I don't say this much but, start a new thread in all other topics.

Describe your thread title better, and post exactly what you want. Hopefully programmers can give you tips. And maybe dRD will chime in, add his 2 cents.

Good luck with it.
