I personally OWN an LG GSA-4120B. I NEVER have a problem at all with it. Is yours a Retail or OEM? The reatil drives are firmware upgaradable. Check your firmware. It should be Ver. A111.I know I have burned over 100 dics with it, never had ANY trouble at all.I Can tell you, these drives like Verbatim Media & Sony Media Best!I recentky started using the New Sony "Accucore" media. Fantastic! Good Media & Firmware updates are the Key to Success! Anyone here agree?

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

Sorry for the Misspells. But really, upgrade your firmware,If it is a Retail Drive & Not OEM. And use GOOD media. Warning! Do NOT try to upgrade an OEM Drive.Retail Drives come in a box with cables, software, manual, etc. OEM drives are Bare drives, sometimes with software & a cable. Speaking of cables, use a 40 pin 80 conductor hard drive cable on your drive. Works better!

@bunnyrip - OEM drives in general are firmware upgradeable too, just have to be a little more careful choosing the right firmware..

Got the new drive, he replaced it with a Samsung 16x. Which I was really happy with as LG was only 4x. Thanks for all your help guys I have burnt 5 movies with the new drive and all have been spot on.

Come to think of it all my dramas started right around the time I used 8x Sony disks. Do you recon this could have anything to do with it as the drive would only read 2 out of 5 disks in the pack. I thought it was a dud batch of disks, maybe that F'd the drive????? I dunno we will see what happens with this.
